Understanding your toddler’s tantrums, with someone to help you through them.
Calm Parent, Confident Toddler
A six-week live programme for parents and primary caregivers of toddlers, with six places and personal support between sessions.
The toddler years are extraordinary. You’re watching a little person discover the world, wanting to do everything for themselves, while still needing so much from you. It can be fascinating to watch, but when you’re tired, trying to get somewhere, or dealing with your own worries, it isn’t always easy to appreciate their determination.
Understanding why they’re upset can help. That said, you have needs too, and knowing that tantrums are a normal part of development doesn’t help you when your child is screaming and you feel yourself getting angry.
I created this programme because I wish I’d had this kind of support when my children were little. Together, we’ll choose one situation that keeps ending in a tantrum and work out what you can do before, during, and afterwards. You’ll try your plan at home, and we’ll adjust it together as you discover what helps you and your child.
The group is small because I want to get to know you and your family. You’ll have time to ask questions, try things at home, and come back to me when something hasn’t worked as you’d hoped.
Starts Monday, 9 November 2026
6 places
€750 paid in full or two monthly payments of €390
Is this programme for you?
Perhaps getting dressed, leaving the park, getting into the car-seat or some other interaction ends in a tantrum more often than not. You’ve tried different things, but you still end up explaining again, negotiating, shouting, or giving in because you need the screaming to stop.
Afterwards, it’s hard to get back to your day because you keep wondering what you could have done differently.
This programme is for parents and primary caregivers who want help with a recurring situation like this and are willing to try things at home between sessions. You’ll have my support as you work out what helps your family.
I wish I’d known then what I know now.
Before my son was born, I thought I was well-prepared. I’d been looking after children for years, reading parenting books since my teens, and everybody else’s children behaved beautifully for me. Honestly, I was a little smug… to put it mildly.
Then I had an emergency C-section, postpartum depression, and a baby who had colic and was often ill. Nothing went according to plan, and my confidence fell apart.
One evening, he’d been crying for hours and I was crying just as hard. My gran was visiting. She asked my husband to take me out for a walk while she stayed with our son.
When we came home, he was sleeping peacefully.
At first, that felt like proof that I was the problem. Looking back, I realise the problem was that I allowed his distress to overwhelm me, instead of being able to stay calm enough to help him settle again.
My children are in their early thirties now, and I couldn’t be prouder of them. We have a close, loving relationship, and I’m now a grandmother to a three-year-old.
That said, I do wish I’d enjoyed those early years more, instead of spending so much time wondering whether I was getting everything “wrong”.
My experience includes working in early childhood education, running a small daycare service from home, and working as a primary school librarian. Alongside raising my own children and now being a grandmother, I’ve supported parents informally in different ways since my teens.
That’s why I do this work.
Your child is unique. So are you.
My son and daughter couldn’t be more different. Even the bottle teats they could use weren’t the same. Raising them taught me to question the idea that any technique would work for every child.
To help your toddler, we need to consider who they are, and what’s manageable for you too.
Together, we’ll look at one situation that keeps becoming difficult in your home, consider what may be hard for your child, and decide which limit needs to remain.
You’ll try your plan at home, and we’ll adjust it together.
We’ll also consider what helps you recover afterwards and how to repair the relationship when you didn’t respond as you would have liked.
What we’ll work on over six weeks:
You’ll leave the first session with a complete plan to try at home. Each week, we’ll review what happened and adjust it together.
Week 1: Make your first plan
Choose one recurring situation and prepare what you’ll say and do before, during, and after the tantrum.
Week 2: Notice what pulls you away from your plan
Recognise the thoughts, feelings, and automatic reactions that make it difficult to respond as you intended.
Week 3: Make the situation easier and clarify the limit
Look at what may be difficult for your child, what you can change, and what still needs to happen.
Week 4: Respond during the tantrum
Practice saying less, staying available, keeping everyone safe, and holding the limit. Our Situation Clinic will help you work through real examples from home.
Week 5: Recover and make things right
Find ways to recover afterwards, reconnect with your child, and take responsibility when you’ve responded in a way you regret.
Week 6: Review what’s changed and try another situation
Recognise your progress, identify what still needs practice, and use what you’ve learnt to prepare a plan for another recurring situation.
You’ll have someone to turn to.
There will be only 6 participants, so I can get to know you and give your questions the attention they need. Parents and primary caregivers are equally welcome.
Over the six weeks, you’ll have:
- Six weekly live sessions of 75 minutes, with teaching, discussion, and help with situations from your own home.
- Private WhatsApp support from Monday to Thursday, with up to two personal questions each week and a reply within one working day. You can write or send a voice or video message of up to five minutes.
- A small WhatsApp group for sharing questions and learning together.
- A printable workbook and your own Tantrum Plan, with personalised written feedback on one plan.
- Recordings of the teaching, so you can revisit it or catch up. Personal questions and discussions won’t be recorded.
- A follow-up session about a month later, plus two months in the alumni community, where I answer questions on Tuesdays and Fridays.
WhatsApp support is for talking through what happened or preparing for what comes next. It isn’t an urgent or out-of-hours service, and you won’t need to film your child having a tantrum.
After your two included months in the alumni community, you can choose to stay for €25 a month for as long as you remain a member.
If you’d like my support, let’s talk.
The toddler years can be fascinating, funny, exhausting, and frustrating, sometimes within the same morning. I’d love to help you understand your little person and enjoy more of this time together, with less of the day spent reliving what went “wrong”.
The button below takes you to a short application form, followed by a booking page where you can choose a time for a free 30-minute Right Fit Call. We’ll talk about what’s happening at home, answer your questions, and decide together whether this programme is suitable for you. Applying doesn’t commit you to joining.
